It has been a fun-filled weekend of successful music making for the Gallia Academy Vocal Music Students!  The Madrigals performed at the OMEA State Adjudicated Large Group event in Columbus and received an Excellent rating! Today, both Madrigals and Academy A Ca****la competed at the Music in the Parks Festival and both ensembles received 1st Place, Superior ratings!

SHOUT OUTS!

- CAROLINE SHOECRAFT received the Outstanding Student Accompanist Award at the MITP festival!

- JORDYNN BROWN received the Outstanding Soloist Award at the MITP festival!

Students, we are so very proud of the work that you put in to make beautiful music happen! Many will never know the dedication which it takes to pull off what you do, but thank you for pouring your heart into each performance. These are the moments you will remember. Keep up the great work!

Long proud post...

These Music Kids from Gallia Academy are amazing!!! From a small high school in Southern Ohio, more than 60 students and 30 adults traveled to New Orleans for the Heritage Music Festival!!

All GAHS groups won across multiple categories, and above all else, represented their school and community well!!

Tonight we are grateful for three things, our school for allowing us to do what the kids love, our community for always supporting us and last, our Directors, for leading our students and teaching them how to express themselves through music education. Nattalie Phillips , Connor McMullen, and Marilyn Kibble Wills are truly the best!!

2026 HERITAGE MUSIC FESTIVAL: NEW ORLEANS

MADRIGALS - Gold (Invitation to Festival of Gold: Nashville, Chicago & Carnegie Hall)

ACADEMY A CA****LA -Gold (3rd place)

GAHS JAZZ BAND-Gold (2nd place)

GAHS SYMPHONIC BAND- Gold (2nd)
(Invitation to Festival of Gold: Nashville or Chicago)

The GAHS Music Dept. also took the Heritage Music Festival Sweepstakes Award (Highest scoring school, which entered at least 3 events in choral and instrumental categories, Closest to 300 points perfect score)!

GAHS Madrigals and GAHS Jazz Band also recieved the 2026 Heritage Music Festival Adjudicator Award for earning a score above 95!

The Gallia Academy Music Dept. has made it safely to New Orleans! We enjoyed an AMAZING Steamboat Dinner Cruise complete with a Cajun buffet and Jazz music! 🎶
