Today, we celebrate an incredible legacy as we honor Mrs. Dana Hickson on her retirement after 33 years of dedicated service to our school and students.
For more than three decades, Mrs. Hickson has poured her heart into the lives of countless children, families, and staff members. Her impact reaches far beyond the classroom, and the love, care, and commitment she has shown to our school community will never be forgotten.
Thank you, Mrs. Hickson, for 33 amazing years of making a difference each and every day. We are so grateful for the legacy you leave behind at Stars Nation, and we wish you nothing but happiness and relaxation in this next chapter! 💙

Congratulations to Mrs. Minks’ 4th grade class for being named our 4-H Rookie of the Year! 🎉
This award is given to a new school each year that shows the highest participation and engagement during 4-H visits, and our students did an amazing job all year long!
To celebrate, students enjoyed charades, Play-Doh activities, “Move the Cotton Ball,” tic-tac-tweezer games, and ended the day with ice cream sandwich sundaes. 🍦
Thank you to Sumner County 4-H for partnering with our school and providing meaningful opportunities and experiences for our students throughout the year. We appreciate all you do for our Stars! ⭐

Gymnastics, recorder performances, singing, dancing, an electric guitar solo, and even a little Justin Bieber?! 🎸🎤⭐
Our school talent show had it all today! We are so proud of our students for showing confidence and creativity on stage while sharing their talents with our school family. One of the highlights of the day was our 4th grade teachers bringing the energy with their Justin Bieber lip sync performance — the crowd loved it! 😂
Thank you to everyone who helped make today such a fun and memorable event for our students. Thank you to Ovation Music Studios for your generosity and setting up a sound system for our school for the talent show. Stars Nation is full of talent! 🌟

Our school is overwhelmed with joy and gratitude after an incredible day filled with generosity.
Today, representatives from Dollar General Corporation, Edgewell Corporation and the Market Performance Group visited our school and truly made an unforgettable impact. First they hosted an assembly full of games and fun, and spent time reading with our students.
They also surprised our entire building with lunch for our staff, a brand-new book for every student, $25 gift cards for every staff member, and an unbelievable $50,000 donation to enhance literacy opportunities in our school. We were completely shocked and are so thankful for such incredible generosity.
Partnerships like these remind us how powerful a community can be when it comes together to support children. Our students deserve the very best, and we are so grateful for organizations that believe in them, invest in them, and help create opportunities for their future. Thank you for loving on our students and staff in such a meaningful way today!

Congratulations to our student, James, for raising the most money for our fundraiser for the American Heart Association! ❤️
Because he was this year’s top fundraiser, our gymnasium was officially named after him for the year. We are so proud of his hard work and support for such a great cause! ⭐💙💛

Today’s Senior Walk was such a special time for our school community. It was great seeing former students walk our hallways one more time, reconnect with staff, and celebrate the Class of 2026. Seniors even got to enjoy some time back on the playground, join Mrs. Zimmerlee and Ms. Brown for one more PE lesson, and sit in for a short lesson with Mrs. Scharkley. Former staff members also had the opportunity to share words of wisdom and encouragement with our graduates as they prepare for their next chapter.
Thank you to Chick Fil A in Gallatin for sponsoring the breakfast.
We are so proud of the Class of 2026 and loved celebrating this milestone with them today! You will always have a home here at Vena Stuart. ⭐️
