This quote from Emily Metcalf feels like such a beautiful reminder for musicians at every stage. Learning music takes patience, curiosity, and the courage to keep going, even when something feels challenging.

That is one of the many reasons we love having Emily at Keen School of Music. She brings a thoughtful, encouraging spirit to her students and helps them see growth as something worth celebrating.

Emily teaches French horn, voice, piano, ukulele, trumpet, and music theory.

She is currently available for lessons:

Keen School of Music is opening later than usual today, Monday June 15th, at 4PM instead of 2PM.

All messages, emails, calls will be answered when we open at 4PM today. KK and Aaron will both be out until 6:30PM tonight, but our trusty intern, Lex, will be helping everyone out today!

That's a wrap on our Pixel Perfect Camp this summer! 🎮👾🎶 Thank you for joining us for three music filled days! Over the past three days, these campers created three pixel perfect video game themes!

We are DAY 2 into our Pixel Perfect Camp! 🎮👾🎶 This is one of our favorite camps of the summer! So far the campers have composed a "Water Theme" 🌊 and today, they are creating a "Forrest Theme" 🌲! We can't wait to see what they create this week!

Get to know Emily Metcalf, one of the wonderful teachers here at Keen School of Music! 🎶

Our intern, Lex Bogs, sat down with Emily to talk about her musical background, her love for teaching, and what inspires her work with students.

Emily teaches voice, piano, brass, and French horn, and she brings so much warmth, creativity, and patience into every lesson. In this blog, we learn more about Emily, and how growing up in a musical family inspired her to carry on the legacy of the teachers who shaped her.

That's a wrap on our very first spring recital! 💙 We had three sections for our Recital (This is a photo from Section A of our recital.) The students did a fantastic job yesterday! We are incredibly proud of everyone!
