🌿 Happy International Friendship Day from Gateway Conservation Alliance! 🌿

Friendship isn't just about the people we know, it's about the connections that bring a community together around a shared purpose.

At Gateway Conservation Alliance, we're grateful for the friendships we've built with neighbors, volunteers, scientists, local businesses, conservation partners, and supporters who care deeply about protecting the Gallatin Valley. Together, we've demonstrated the power of people working side by side to safeguard clean water, healthy wildlife habitat, and the rural character that makes our community special.

Every conversation, every volunteer hour, every donation, and every act of advocacy strengthens the bonds that help protect the places we love.

Today, we celebrate the friendships that inspire action, build resilience, and remind us that meaningful change happens when communities come together.

Thank you for being part of the GCA family. 💚

Happy Fourth of July from Gateway Conservation Alliance!

As we celebrate our nation's independence, we're reminded that freedom comes with responsibility, the responsibility to protect the places we love for future generations.

The Gallatin Valley's clean water, open spaces, abundant wildlife, and vibrant communities are part of what makes this region worth celebrating. These natural resources are not only our heritage, but a legacy we leave for those who come after us.

This Independence Day, we are grateful for the community members, volunteers, supporters, scientists, and advocates who continue to stand up for the Gallatin River, responsible growth, and the health and safety of our valley.

Together, we're proving that engaged citizens can make a difference.

Wishing you and your family a safe, joyful, and memorable Fourth of July.

Here's to protecting the places that make America beautiful.

The good news keeps on coming! Protect the Clearwater received a positive ruling, and Judge Halligan expanded on the earlier ruling from our Judge. Most importantly, Judge Halligan found the abbreviated pit permitting process to be unconstitutional.

In her ruling, Judge Halligan stated:

“Rather than fulfilling this continuing obligation, DEQ manufactured a conflict between the statutory time constraints and the constitutional purpose of the Opencut Mining Act, and then resolved that conflict by subordinating the Montana Constitution. That the Permit was issued on the same day as the environmental assessment only underscores the absence of any meaningful review prior to approval of the Permit.”

This is a major victory for transparency, accountability, and the protection of Montana’s environment and communities. This also drives momentum in our cases! Read more about her ruling in the comments.
