We officially made it through our first week of school! 🙌Our building was radiating with new friendships, lots of laughter, and so many fun games and activities. We're off to a fantastic start, and we can't wait to see what this '26/'27 school year has in store for us!

👏👏Let's give it up for our LUNCH STAFF and MAINTENCE👏👏CREW! Words can't even begin to express the gratitude we have for this group of people who have been working so hard behind the scenes to help get our school ready for the first day. Ms. Gina and Ms. Pam are gearing up to serve the *BEST* food to our students, and Ms. Katie and Mr. Mike have been working tirelessly to get our building ready to go!

📣 Time to brag on the Galeton specials teachers! We'd like to introduce you to our art teacher, Mrs. Painter (yes, that's really her name), and our music/PE teacher, Mr. Bosma (everyone calls him Mr. B). We are so lucky to have them share their talents and passions with our school. The amount of talent in this one picture isn't even fair to the rest of us!

It truly takes a village to make Galeton Elementary the special place it is, and we are so lucky to have the support of these amazing teachers and paras that consistently show up for our students and staff. They work tirelessly to keep things running, encourage our students, solve the little (and sometimes BIG!) problems, and make sure our school community feels cared for every day.

🌟 Ms. Fox, one of our interventionists, brings so much knowledge of the Science of Reading to our students during their WIN groups. She is also incredibly skilled at using current research of math instruction in students’ enrichment groups.

🌟Our very own Mrs. DeMario will be the long term sub for Ms. Fox while she is out on maternity leave. She will be serving our students as the interventionist for just long enough until it’s time for her to have her baby!

🌟 Mrs. Ruff wears SO MANY HATS! She works hard to provide quality interventions as the literacy specialist, but she is also our ELL teacher, the G/T coordinator, AND runs our MTSS team!

🌟 Mrs. Corliss, our SPED teacher, not only serves our students on IEPs, but she also brings her expertise of Tier 3 interventions to reach the needs of so many students.

📣Let’s give a major shout-out to the best paras in all the land! Mrs. Kammerzell, Ms. Gray, Mrs. O’Leary, and Mrs. Smith are true unsung heroes. Our school would literally not function without the work that these ladies do every day!

Every school needs a dream team to keep the wheels turning, the phones ringing, the paperwork moving, and the occasional chaos under control! Say hello to Galeton's Office Crew!!

📋 Ms. Gracie — Our Admin Assistant, office superhero, and unofficial CEO of Galeton Elementary! If it needs to be scheduled, organized, answered, ordered, found, fixed, or figured out… Gracie probably already did it!

👩‍💼 Mrs. Hielscher — Our Building Principal and professional problem-solver! She keeps us moving forward, supports our staff and students, and somehow manages to be in approximately 47 places at once.

🩹 Ms. Maycee — Our School Health Tech and the official keeper of Band-Aids and ice packs. She takes great care of our students and keeps our little people feeling their best.

These three are a HUGE part of what makes Galeton Elementary run smoothly, and we are so lucky to have them! ❤️🖤

The Galeton Elementary staff is so excited to welcome our students and families back for another amazing school year! As we get ready for the first day of school, our staff learned about the "Marigold Theory" — the idea that, just like marigolds are companion plants that help other plants grow, positive people can help the people around them grow, thrive, and feel supported. We’re excited to be a staff full of marigolds this year and create a school community where everyone can bloom! ❤️💐

What a fantastic way to kick off our new school year! On Friday, August 7th, our Galeton Elementary team came back together for a wonderful day of Leader in Me learning, connection, and growth.

We focused on **highly effective practices** that will help us continue to grow as educators and leaders. We also spent time learning more about our **personal strengths and stretches**, reflecting on what we naturally do well and where we have opportunities to grow.

Of course, we had plenty of fun along the way! We played games, laughed, learned from one another, and enjoyed simply being back together as a team.

A huge THANK YOU to Coach Jen Jones for another fabulous and engaging training! Your energy, encouragement, and passion for Leader in Me always leave us inspired and ready to grow.

We are excited for another amazing year at Galeton Elementary!

Please join us in giving a warm Galeton welcome to our new 4th grade teacher, Brooke Clark! 🤩

We are excited to have Brooke join our Galeton family. She brings a wonderful combination of enthusiasm, positivity, creativity, and a genuine love for working with students. Our 4th graders are going to have a year filled with learning, laughter, and meaningful experiences.

Brooke's energy and passion for education will bring so much fun, excitement, and life to the classroom. Most importantly, she shares our commitment to building strong relationships and helping every child feel seen, valued, and successful.

We know Brooke will be a fantastic fit for the Galeton family and our amazing community. We can't wait for our students and families to get to know her!
