PATIENCE is truly a VIRTUE.

While most families have their Christmas shopping complete, we don’t want to miss the opportunity to deliver a greater message to all of our children. We know the genuine excitement of children opening gifts and the priceless memories we create. Before your family moves through this wonderful moment, carefully use the opportunity to preserve it. What I have learned through many years teaching kindergarten and preschool children, that joy can be preserved and retrieved if we teach our children the unique speciality of each holiday and celebration. Set the tone for your children to ‘look forward’ to future special days. Open the door for them to look ahead to special days, much like they did with Christmas. Children quickly learn how special
their own birthday is and even though they are young, children understand that day comes only once a year making it very special and unique. To the child, they can barely wait for that day on the calendar. More importantly, parents have this opportunity to help their little one mold that understanding and in turn, build their own ability to understand the JOY not only in receiving, but, the actual act of LOOKING FORWARD to a special day. Believe me, what they’ll learn is patience AND temperance. (if you see signs of frustration, and you will, lead them to a calendar and allow them to ‘mark a date) This gives a child a tangible tool and guides them to ‘look forward’. Never miss an opportunity to teach a child the valuable character trait of PATIENCE. It absolutely will help you in the future, I promise. Remember always, teach lovingly because patience truly is an important virtue worth building into your child’s character! Teach your children well! ❤️
