Local Restaurants: We're Looking for Culinary Internship Partners this Nov-Dec!

Host a culinary intern for up to 20 hours per week over four weeks and provide real-world kitchen experience while helping students build skills in food safety, kitchen operations, and workplace readiness.

The best part? Intern wages are covered through the Hunger Collaborative Grant, sponsored by the Galesburg Community Foundation, at no cost to your restaurant.

The ATI TEAS Exam Prep Boot Camp is a focused four-session course designed to help students strengthen their skills in reading, math, science, and English & language usage while learning effective test-taking strategies to boost confidence and improve performance.

⏰ 12-4 p.m.
📍 Hybrid instruction available at both Sandburg's Galesburg and Carthage campuses

Sandburg is excited to expand its Kids on Campus program with a new series focused on career exploration! Our inaugural Kids on Campus Careers session will introduce youth ages 11-15 to the rewarding world of teaching and education through engaging, hands-on activities.

Participants will:
✅ Explore what it takes to become a teacher
✅ Learn about careers in education
✅ Participate in fun, interactive activities
✅ Enjoy lunch with fellow future educators
✅ Take home a bag of school supplies every teacher needs

That’s a wrap on our summer Career Exploration Camps! 🎉

We finished strong with Culinary Camp, where students discovered what it takes to succeed in the food and hospitality industry. Along the way, they earned their Food Handler and Food Allergen Certifications and gained hands-on kitchen experience preparing a meal.

The week also included visits to several locally owned businesses including Malley Farms, Nayborhood Farm, and Evgenia! Students enjoyed tastings, explored food production and restaurant operations, and learned directly from local entrepreneurs about the work that happens behind the scenes.

Thank you to our community partners for helping create an unforgettable experience!
