A little more information about English 141, the Literary Magazine class (Phizzogs). It's a 1.0 credit hour class and may be repeated subsequent semesters for credit. Students in the class comprise the staff for Phizzogs, Sandburg's literary magazine. It's a great way to get some hands-on experience with promoting the magazine & encouraging students to submit their work; collaborating with peers and other departments; engaging in thoughtful discussions with classmates and thinking critically about writing and art; and composing and designing a final product.

It was great to see so many members of our Sandburg community (alumni, faculty and staff, current students) in the band or in attendance at the Sandburg Community concert yesterday evening. Next year's summer concert is already planned for July 1st! Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate!

For the community band concert at 7:00 pm, we are watching the weather and things are looking pretty good at this time. There is a slight chance of storms at 3:00 in the afternoon but clearing out for the evening. It should be around 87 degrees at concert time and there is plenty of shade around the patio.
