After 5 memorable years, I am sad to say that this chapter of our Streaks After Hours program will come to a close. Due to lack of funding from ISBE, our grant will finish out on August 31st. We’ve had a great time working with the countless number of students within the halls of GHS. Our staff and students made this job easy and the highlight of my years in education. We hope that funding will return, but until then, it’s been great to be a Silver Streak. I personally would like to thank District 205, ROE 33, United Way and our many other partners over the years for all of their support. ⚡️🖤

Without new funding the Streaks After Hours program will end August 31st. We have spent the last 5 years building relationships, helping guide student through the pandemic and building programs after school to help our students at GJSHS.

Dear: General Assembly, Allow the ISBE After School Programs line to continue to do the essential work of supporting our youth and communities through directly funding $20 million to the initiative! Support the ISBE After School Programs line as providers leveraging this funding have supported Illinois youth statewide!

Without new funding the Streaks After Hours program will end August 31.
