I'm so proud of these kids! This was a brand-new reader today. They consistently work so hard in reading group and are decoding so well! 📚📖📚

We are learning about plants in science so today we investigated them up close. We located the flower, pistil, stamen, stem, leaves, and soil where the roots would be. We discussed how chlorophyll is made. Then we watered them with spray bottles.

Today started with a visit from Kent EMS & Galena Volunteer Fire Company (THANK YOU!), continued with leaf shadow spray painting, and ended with an impromptu hug. Have a great weekend everyone!

Today was perfect. Beautiful weather to explore Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge & Edesville Park. I had a small group today but we had the best time! We got to talk to a fisherman who showed us he catches minnows and uses the minnows as bait to catch Rockfish and Perch. What a fun learning experience. Wednesdays at Sassafras Primary are for exploring!

Each Thursday, we do art. Today we made vibrant fall trees to decorate our classroom. Studying lines & warm and cool colors, we were able to create contrast. I love how they are all beautiful & all different!

Today was magical! From drones to canoes, compasses to skinks, the Sultana Education Foundation created an amazing experience for our Sassafras Primary School and Pre-K Kinder Connection students. Beyond grateful for their amazing programs. This was my favorite field trip this year!
