NW IL GSA A program of Riverview Center; provides safe spaces, support, & education for LGBTQIA+ & allies.

The mission of the NWIL GSA is to provide support and education for the LGBTQ+ and ally youth in an effort to reduce self-harm, bullying, substance abuse, as well as increase their self-esteem through a mentor-lead peer group. This will be achieved through a weekly, safe-space meeting that may include topics of bullying, health safety, advocacy, etc. in an effort to reduce risks and provide a bett

er sense of community for LGBTQ+ and allies. Meetings will be led by trained community members, school professionals, Riverview Center employees, and student leaders.
