In each pairing of students one can find an Algebra student that needs extra help/time to work on an assignment and a Calculus student volunteering his/her FLEX time to help/tutor an Algebra student. ❤️

Beautiful weather this weekend, but these nerds agreed to spend four hours practicing for their AP Calculus exam! 29 of them came out Sat from 8a-12p, and 27 came today from 4p-8p. Former students report that this was the most helpful resource during our 5 or 6 weeks of AP prep, so most current students take it seriously.

AP Calc BC had some friendly competition going this morning as two teams of students tried to "breakout" faster than their opponents.

36 students taking a practice AP Calculus exam this afternoon and 30 took it yesterday morning. 66 students gave up 4 hours of their weekend time to try to improve their chances of a good score on the May 9th exam. What a fantastic group of people.

Great turnout at HobKnob tonight. Tomorrow's test is over volumes of revolutions and cross sections. It's a tough one!

So excited! I got my first college pennant in the mail today! Last week I mailed a request to 50 colleges/universities where I know either a former student attends or a current student has applied. I'm looking forward to creating a "college wall" in my classroom for my seniors!

Shout out to HobKnob! Optimization, linear approximation, Mean Value Theorem, and related rates test tomorrow. Surprisingly low turnout for such difficult topics! Fingers crossed...

Calculus and coffee! Our fourth study session this year at HobKnob. Fewer students this time. Hopefully that means most feel like they've got a good understanding of derivatives and didn't need the extra time/help. Fingers crossed for all of them tomorrow!

56 seats filled with awesomeness right here. These students got up extra early to work AP exam questions for extra credit in Calculus.
