Last day of Week 6 • Art Zines

What a wonderful way to wrap up our Art Zines week! Today our artists finished every last page, designed their covers, and assembled everything into their very own handmade art magazines. From the first idea to the final staple, every zine is completely unique and full of creativity, imagination, and personality.

We are so proud of these young artists and can’t wait to see what they create next 📚🎨✨

Day 3 of Week 6: Art Zines!

Today our artists explored inks and created their own handmade stamps to design new pages for their art zines.
New supplies, fresh waves of creativity, endless imagination, and simple, playful designs came together in the most wonderful way 🎨✨✔️

Day 2 of our Art Zines week!

Today our young artists became editors-in-chief of their very own art zines. We designed the first pages, filled them with creativity, and started building unique handmade magazines that tell their own stories.

Every day we’ll add new pages, new techniques, new ideas, and even more fun, imagination, and inspiration. By the end of the week, each artist will take home a one-of-a-kind art zine created entirely by them.

Art Camp, Week 6 is all about Art Zines.

An art zine is a tiny handmade magazine where imagination has no limits.
Kids can create stories, comics, fashion, animals, sports, fairy tales, planets, hobbies, or anything they can dream up.

We’ll be mixing all kinds of art techniques and materials: drawing with markers, crayons, and colored pencils, creating collages, cutting and gluing, adding stickers, washi tape, and anything else that inspires us. Every page will be unique!

Today we started our mini zines, and throughout the week our artists will add page by page to their handmade books.
On Friday, everyone will take home their very own art zine ❤️‍🔥

And of course, our favorite Friday tradition: sketching portraits of Teacher Katya! Her wonderful collection keeps growing every week ✍️✏️🖤

Day 5 • Week 5 • Books Illustration 📚🐈

Today we celebrated the wonderful world of Swedish author and illustrator Sven Nordqvist! We watched the adventures of Pettson and Findus, explored his beautifully illustrated books, and talked about the magic of storytelling through art.

Our young artists first created adorable Findus-inspired cat masks, then illustrated their own scenes featuring Pettson and Findus💚✨😻

Day 4 of Week 5: Book Illustration Week ✨
Then, inspired by one of teacher favorite collage postcards, kids designed beautiful mixed-media collages featuring Moomin, Snork Maiden, Mörra (Mora), Snufkin, and other beloved friends.

Day 4 of Week 5: Book Illustration Week ✨

Today we stepped into the magical world of Tove Jansson and the Moomins. We watched a Moomins episode, learned more about Tove Jansson and her unforgettable characters, and explored the whimsical Moomin Valley together.

Our artists created ink stamps and printed their favorite Moomin characters to make unique postcards.
