The school year is winding down… do you know what your children will be doing this summer?

Summer matters. It’s a time for children to keep learning, creating, exploring, asking questions, building confidence, and making meaningful memories. I encourage every parent to find programs that keep young minds active through academic, cultural, creative, and community-centered experiences.

Thankful for the educators, organizations, and innovators who led interactive STEM stations and engaged students in meaningful learning experiences for the BYTES+AI Summit.

I am incredibly grateful for the organizers, volunteers, panelists, and presenters who supported the BYTES + AI Summit. This event would not have been possible without your time, expertise, and willingness to pour into our young scholars and their families.

Featured below are Georgia State University Ph.D., Ed.D. and M.Ed. students, who led engaging and hands-on learning experiences throughout the day. PreK-12 grade youth had the opportunity to:

• Code Ozobots to navigate through a maze
• Explore the basics of electricity by building simple circuits
• Learn coding through Minecraft Education
• Experience the excitement of flying drones
• Use merge cubes to learn about augmented reality
• Learn the basics of rabbit biology, habits, habitats, and care.

These activities promoted critical thinking, collaboration, and inquiry while ensuring that students had an amazing time learning and exploring STEM.

Moments like this remind us what is possible when universities, communities, and educators come together to create meaningful opportunities for young people.

Organizers:
GSU Collaborative Human Artificial Intelligence (CHAI) Center - Anu Bourgeois, Middle and Secondary Education GSU, Dr. Nadine S. Ebri with Ebri Education, Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development, I AM STEM Camp Foundation, Inc.

Sponsors: VyStar Credit Union, Georgia Tech CEISMC, Atlanta Science Festival

Affirmations matter especially in STEM where Black children and Black girls in particular have too often been told they don’t belong. From the U.S. to Liberia, we are changing that story one affirmation at a time.

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to sow into the work of I AM STEM Foundation Inc… but we’re not limiting it to just today. Throughout the month of December, whenever you feel led and whenever you are able, we ask that you make a financial contribution that will directly impact children, families, and teachers across the United States, the Caribbean, and Africa.
If you’ve ever participated in an I AM STEM program, partnered with us, or simply been inspired by our work, we hope you will see your gift as an investment in equity, access, and opportunity.
Your tax-deductible contribution helps us:
· Provide high-quality STEM access to children nationwide
· Expand our international footprint and build sustainable global partnerships
· Offer Artificial Intelligence (AI) upskilling for youth and educators
· Launch new STEM camps and strengthen existing programs to increase the number of children served
· Grow initiatives that uplift and empower girls in STEM
Every dollar helps us reach one more child, train one more teacher, inspire one more girl, and transform one more community.
Thank you for believing in this work.
Thank you for believing in our children.
Thank you for helping us build a world where brilliance is nurtured, seen, and celebrated.
Give today…or anytime this month, and help us continue changing lives through STEM.
No contribution is too small. Every bit helps and builds momentum.

When a student sees your poster on the wall and realizes that you’re real. 🥹Scientists and science educators are real people…everyday people. We cook, we garden, we recycle, we feel, we wonder, and we problem-solve. Science isn’t just in a lab…it is life.I’m just here to swing doors wide open (and take them off the hinges) to welcome more Black and Brown children into STEM.
