We are excited to have Mrs. Haynes join Gainesville High School this year as our new Work-Based Learning Coordinator!

This is Mrs. Haynes 23rd year in education and first at GHS. She has taught Business Ed, Graphics and Web Design and coached basketball before making the change to WBL 9 years ago. Most recently, she has worked part-time as a Youth Apprenticeship Coordinator and part-time as a CTAE Administrator.

She serves on the WBL State Executive Board as the GACTE Division VP where she has learned a lot about CTAE across the state. We are glad to have her back in Work-Based Learning connecting her student with career opportunities.

Building the future, one connection at a time! 🤖⚙️

GHS Mechatronics & Engineering students headed to The UGA College of Engineering for National Manufacturing Day! 🏛️

From exploring the cutting-edge Innovation Factory to networking with industry leaders and chatting with current UGA students, our Red Elephants got an insider look at what’s next in manufacturing and engineering. 🌐✨

We were blown away by how much access UGA students have to solve real-world problems and build new systems—this definitely isn't your old-school, traditional "sit-and-get" class setup! 🤯💡

As the Keynote speaker, Aaron Schoonbaert, said, "Skills transcend time. Learn the job, improve the process, help others succeed. Everything changes, you can adapt and thrive."

Our GHS Mental Health Professional pathway students enjoyed an incredible day exploring the field of psychology at Brenau University’s Get PsychED Day!

Students participated in immersive, hands-on activities across the Brenau Downtown Center and Gainesville Renaissance Center, including:

-Virtual Reality (VR) and driving simulations
-Perception, drunk, and inversion goggles experiments
-Interactive learning stations like Bafa Bafa, sensory interactions, human-to-human interface, and the "hearing voices" workshop

Thank you to Brenau University for hosting such an engaging and educational experience for our future mental health professionals!

This past week, both Gainesville Middle School East and West campuses had the chance to explore vast career options through realistic scenarios like virtual reality and driving simulations.

The Be Pro Be Proud Georgia Mobile Workshop gave students hands-on experience with high-demand careers such as aviation, welding, healthcare, construction, driving and more. Students could step into the shoes of many professions like becoming a pilot flying a plane, heavy equipment operator, or a surgeon performing a procedure. These realistic simulations provided them with a vivid look at what it would be like to take on such powerful responsibilities.

At Gainesville Middle School East, 294 students benefited from this first-hand experience, while 308 students participated over at the West campus! These experiences help students get excited about skilled career pathways and encourage them to continue discovering what CTAE has to offer.

We are proud to welcome Mr. Conley as our new Construction teacher here at Gainesville High School!

Mr. Conley has spent 9 years teaching Social Studies at Chestatee High School and 2 years working as a Superintendent for Venture Construction company in Norcross, Georgia.

Construction allows students to use their imagination and bring their ideas to life. Through building, students will see their visions take form in front of them, and Mr. Conley is thankful to be able to help his students in accomplishing that.

Hands-on learning in action! 🩺 In our Sports Medicine Pathway, mastering proper taping techniques is a fundamental skill for injury prevention and athletic care. Our students spent the day training like true professionals, gaining the practical experience needed for careers in athletic training, physical therapy, and sports medicine. 💪
