The Black Faculty and Staff Association presents the Nyansapo Kente Stole Ceremony, an inaugural event that will take place for Spring 2022 graduates and their guests on Thursday, April 28, at 6 p.m. at Pearce Auditorium on Brenau’s historic Gainesville campus. The Nyansapo Kente Robing Ceremony recognizes graduates as they transition from students to global citizens. Robing ceremony registration and customized stole fee is $35, which will be used to purchase the customized stole. Registration remains open until April 15. Register here: https://brena.us/3uMOht8
Who can wear a Kente stole? Kente stoles can also signify any hurdle for the wearer that might make academic success uniquely difficult for them. This allows Kente’s symbolism to overlap with many personal struggles regardless of the person’s ethnicity or skin color.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email: [email protected]. The event is for all to attend and support, and a reception will follow.
