UL Solutions just put out a warning about Zinshine water-based extinguishers (model ZEF600) floating around online marketplaces - turns out they're wearing a UL Certification Mark they never actually received. Tranlate: nobody's tested whether these extinguishers actually work when you need them to.

If you're not sure what's hanging in your kitchen, garage, or breakroom, don't wait to find out the hard way. Give us a shout and we'll take a look! Better safe than sorry when it comes to fire safety.

Would you recognize a fire extinguisher with an unauthorized UL Certification Mark?

UL Solutions has issued a public warning about certain water-based fire extinguishers that were sold online and display unauthorized UL Marks. If you're responsible for purchasing, inspecting, or servicing fire extinguishers, this is an important notice you shouldn't miss.

🔥 Quick fire safety question for you: what do you do AFTER you've used a fire extinguisher?

If you said "put it back on the wall and move on," you're not alone — but that's actually not the right move. Even if it feels like there's agent left inside, a used extinguisher needs to be recharged or replaced before you can count on it again.

That's just one of the questions we're tackling in this month's newsletter, along with:
✅ What type of extinguisher you actually need for your kitchen or garage
✅ How often extinguishers need to be inspected (the answer surprises a lot of people!)
✅ Whether a dropped or damaged extinguisher is still safe to use
✅ When to fight a fire yourself vs. when to just get out

We also sat down with Nick Whitmire, one of our System Install Technicians, for this month's Employee Spotlight — plus a couple of fun facts about the history of firefighting.

**Edit: If you have a fire extinguisher related question that was not covered in the newsletter, drop it in the comments and we will get you the answer!**

Fires in Georgia today. Here is the latest on burns, wildfires in GA 04/27/2026

Our hearts are heavy as we continue to watch the devastating wildfires burning across South Georgia. We are lifting up every family who has been impacted and those who have lost homes. We are especially grateful for the firefighters, emergency personnel, and volunteers who are risking everything to protect our communities.

As shared by Georgia officials, these fires are being fueled by dry conditions and wind, and even small actions can spark new fires. Authorities are urging everyone to:
- Avoid any outdoor burning due to statewide burn bans
- Never discard ci******es or flammable materials on the ground
- Stay clear of active fire areas and follow all evacuation guidance
- Be prepared for changing conditions and potential evacuations

Please continue to keep South Georgia in your thoughts and prayers. If you're in or near affected areas, stay alert, follow guidance from local officials, and check on your neighbors.

Together, we stand with our Georgia communities.
