Happy New Year and Global Family Day! Today we celebrate renewal and unity across all traditions. As our 2024 Fall issue of JVS reminds us, Vaishnavism has long championed the idea that all authentic spiritual paths lead toward the same ultimate truth.

🎄 Merry Christmas from the Institute for Vaishnava Studies
To our community—old friends and new—warm wishes on this sacred day.
For over 40 years, IVS has been a home for scholarship, dialogue, and devotion. We publish the Journal of Vaishnava Studies—the longest-running academic journal on Hindu Studies in the Western world—and we've long believed that genuine encounter across traditions enriches us all.
As scholar Kenneth Cracknell writes after years of Christian-Vaishnava dialogue: Christians recognized in Vaishnavas "love, joy, peace, patience, generosity, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." Vaishnavas found in Christians "openness, humility, and a real willingness to understand."
Today, as billions celebrate the birth of Jesus, we honor the spirit of divine love that draws seekers together.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us.

In 2020, the IVS acquired the Journal of Vaishnava Studies as its official publication. A bi-annual and thematic journal, the JVS has published close to 700 articles and scholars from around the world often reference them in their own academic work. It is the premier journal on Vaishnavism!
We are seeking to raise a $250,000 endowment fund to allow the journal to continue operations perpetually, and are also accepting subscriptions at this time.
Our most recent issue is on the theme of “Sampradaya” and includes contributions from esteemed scholars in the field!
To make inquire about our donation options and rewards, subscribe to the journal, or for more information, please email [email protected]
