Brenau has an unparalleled record in that arena. More than 600 Brenau graduates work in teaching jobs in and around the north Georgia community alone.

Brenau University's College of Education prepares students for positions in the teaching field through its undergraduate and graduate teacher certification programs and advancement opportunities in the field for certified teachers completing graduate degrees. Brenau credentials historically have placed applicants for positions in public or private schools in good standing with prospective employers.

Inspired by her daughter Abigail, who is earning her bachelor’s in middle grades education, Sandra Brown decided to enroll at Brenau and pursue the highest degree in her field — a doctorate in education.

“My doctoral degree was the only thing I have left to get,” Sandra said. “Just working with her (Abigail) and helping her through some of the classwork that she has done here at Brenau, I have been inspired by the teachers, the program, and what she’s going to get out of it one day.”

Abigail, who is just two semesters away from receiving her bachelor’s, said she was motivated to follow in the footsteps of her mom, after witnessing the impact Sanda has made on the lives of her students. Sandra has taught full-time at East Hall Middle for the past 25 years, and has worked part-time at Mountain Education Charter High School for the last five years.

“I grew up going in and out of her classroom, and she has made such wonderful relationships with her students,” Abigail said “…And, I would love to do the same.”

If you are a current K-12 teacher and would like to help a group of graduate students as part of Brenau's Psychology department please see below!

Hello!

Under the guidance of Dr. Perry Daughtry from the Lynn J. Darby School of Psychology and Adolescent Counseling, Benjamin Jarvis, Nairi Gilmer, and Rachel Christina, are requesting your participation in an online survey. This survey serves as a requirement in the Brenau University Clinical Counseling Psychology graduate program. Please note that your participation is voluntary; you may end the survey at any time without any penalties. Our survey will take approximately 35 minutes to complete. Your participation is completely voluntary and all information you provide will remain anonymous.

This survey focuses on how educators throughout the United States were impacted by the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic. We want to know more about your thoughts and experiences regarding the transition from on ground to online (and back to on ground, and back to online, etc.) learning during this period of time as well as overall job satisfaction, burnout, and work related stress. With this in mind, if you are a current K-12 teacher we encourage you to participate in our study.

We thank you in advance for your assistance!
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out:
