Dear Jenna, being your roommate and getting to know you over the last year has been so important to me, from random movie nights to 7 Brew trips to random phone calls saying “I’m about to pull up in the car you wanna come do a cool thing?” I haven’t felt closer to a friend in a very long time I’ll cherish this year and am so excited for more adventures!

So cute! Can't get enough of them!! 🫶🐿️

¡Pura Vida! From Costa Rica 🍽️✨

Last week, Mu alumna and Brenau professor, Dr. Jessi Shrout and Mu Chapter President, Lilliquin, returned from their study abroad trip to Costa Rica! There, they ate fresh meals known as “casados” which means “married man” because the dish consists of a protein, rice and beans, vegetables or salad, and fried plantains which is akin to what the women will make for their families, including their husbands.

“To welcome the opportunity of contributing to the world’s work….” Lilliquin also planted a tree and worked in an agroforestry farm to contribute to the conservation efforts that Costa Rica is well known for. She also learned how to make empanadas with local women in Monteverde!

This trip was special to Lilliquin, as it enriched her alumni connections and academic endeavors here at Brenau! ❤️💛💚

Today, the chapter president, Liliquin, is sharing why she went, Alpha Gam!

“Before I decided to join Alpha Gam, I had many significant moments with Gams. I met my best friend, Kendra, on the day of AGD's house tour. Alpha Gam bid me twice, and the second time I was bid with my best friend. I became a now alumnis dance little with my best friend as my twin. Apart from all the significant moments I shared with the Alpha Gams, I was so sweetly welcomed and shown genuine interest from all the Alpha Gam sisters. Alpha Gam has given me so many opportunities: I’ve been able to make an impact on the world, grow as a person, watch my sisters flourish, participate in so many special activities, and help this chapter grow.”

Liliquin! We love you and appreciate all the hard work you do for this chapter. We wouldn’t have it any other way 🫶

Joining has truly been one of the best decisions of my life.”
