The Center for Greek Studies was established in 1980 to coordinate all courses offered at a the University of Florida dealing with ancient and modern Greece. Language is at its core; every year beginning, intermediate, and advanced ancient and modern Greek courses are offered. Currently there are 24 courses offered under the CGS umbrella and in any given semester a between 300 - 1200 students are

Perry Curator of Greek and Roman Art (for the Tampa Museum of Art) will present “Good Dog, Bad Dog: Pets and Pests in Attic Black- and Red-Figure Pottery!” This talk, brought to you by the Department of Classics and the George A. Smathers Libraries, is part of the 2012-13 Rothman Distinguished Lectures in Classics Series. It is free and open to the public. Hope to see you there!
