April is the month of Sexual Assault Awareness, and today we would like to spotlight two women of Gamma Iota, and , who founded Flipping The System— an organization here at UF that aims to end sexual assault and increase campus nighttime safety. Here are some words on what this cause means to them!

“Today on Denim Day, we stand in solidarity with survivors and continue fighting for a world free from sexual violence. As a founder of Flipping the System, this work means everything to me. My co-founder Presley and I found each other through Zeta, but what brought us together was something deeper: a shared passion to make campuses safer, to empower victims to find their voice, and to build something that will aid others in feeling seen, heard, strong and safe. Watching FTS grow into something bigger than I could have ever imagined has been the greatest privilege of my college experience. Denim Day is a small but powerful way we show up—for survivors, for each other, and for the change we’re fighting for every day. It is through communities like our sisterhood and our FTS ambassadors that have given us the power to enact real change on college campuses, and we’ll never stop pushing for a world where everyone feels safe.”
