💜 In honor of June being , we are spreading information to stand together with the individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias 💜
🧑🔬🧠 David Vaillancourt, Ph.D., a distinguished professor and the Orchid Endowed Chair for the UF Department of Applied Physiology & Kinesiology, and his colleagues at UF BME & UF College of the Arts leveraged AI ✨ to create a new tool that helps doctors distinguish between brain scans of Alzheimer’s disease dementia and dementia with Lewy bodies. Their work makes diagnosis between the two commonly confused conditions more accurate, allowing for appropriate treatments to begin sooner.
This innovation underscores UF’s commitment to developing research and breakthroughs that improve lives and health care.
