The American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) 2026 Annual Conference brought five of our ZamoGators to Dallas, Texas, for an opportunity to connect with the horticultural science community.

Congratulations to Jonathan Lainez, Angela Osorio, Martha Vilchez, Lidysce Mata, Walter Wong for presenting their research at this year’s conference🤠

🥇 A special recognition goes to Martha Vilchez, who earned 1st Place in the Floriculture Oral Competition! An outstanding achievement and recognition of her hard work and dedication.

Our students recently traveled to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to participate in the American Peanut Research and Education Society (APRES) Annual Meeting and share their research with the peanut science community 🇵🇷

🥜 Sobeida presented “Assessing Root and Hypocotyl Length as Indicators of Field Emergence in Peanut” in the M.S. Student Oral Presentation Competition.

🌱Carlos presented “Relationship Between Seed Calcium Content, Germination, and Growth of Hypocotyl and Primary Root Driven by the Effect of Gypsum Application” in the M.S. Student Poster Competition, earning second place! 🥈👏
