To make a successful return on their investment, growers need to accurately predict how much crop they might grow in a given season.
UF Gulf Coast Research & Education Center is developing web-based tools that incorporate to help farmers predict yields faster, more accurately.
So far, the results from our research plots and two commercial growers’ farms are encouraging!

A transformative $9.5 million estate gift to the University of Florida will help advance research and outreach to protect livestock from pests and disease.
The newly established Carrie W. Earls Mosquito and Pest Eradication in Beef Cattle Fund will support work across UF/IFAS and the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, helping researchers develop new strategies to manage mosquitoes, biting flies, and other pests that impact cattle health and productivity.
The gift, made through the estate of Irene and Walter Earls, will support research, education, and Extension efforts that benefit Florida’s livestock producers while helping UF respond to emerging threats such as the New World screwworm.
