It is my honor to announce that we are in the final countdown, less than 72hrs, until the graduation of the Obsidian Cohort!

As the Executive Director of FSTM for only 20 months, and being their Executive Director for the last 20 months of their program; I can say I am so proud of these young women! They have preserved, thrived, grown, and now are shining in their communities!

Please take a moment to congratulate them, leave a positive message and/or just send love their way! Florida is gaining some remarkable women and soon to be FSTM Graduates but more importantly soon to be Licensed Midwives!

As the Executive Director of The Florida School of Traditional Midwifery I am proud to announce Courtney Julien, LM, CPM, as our new Clinical Director!

Courtney Julien, LM, CPM is a licensed midwife, educator, and advocate passionate about supporting birthing families and advancing community midwifery. A graduate of the University of Florida and the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery, Courtney now serves as Clinical Director at FSTM, where she is dedicated to mentoring and empowering the next generation of midwives.

As she steps into this leadership role, Courtney also makes history as the first African American Clinical Director in the institution's history, marking an important milestone in FSTM's ongoing commitment to leadership, representation, and excellence in midwifery education.

Her work is deeply rooted in improving outcomes for Black and brown families, fostering representation within the birth community, and creating safe, affirming care for all birthing people. Courtney is also a co-owner and practicing midwife with Tampa Bay Midwives and an autism advocate whose experiences as a mother continue to shape her compassionate, family-centered approach to care.

We are honored to welcome Courtney into this position and look forward to the impact her leadership, vision, and dedication will have on our students, our profession, and the families we serve.
