Interdisciplinary doctoral (DPM) plant health education at the University of Florida since 1999! Vi

The DPM degree requires 100 graduate credits and takes between 3 to 4 years to complete. The DPM curriculum trains students in the prevention, diagnosis and management of plant health problems. Required courses and internships are presented by faculty in all of the relevant disciplines including Agronomy, Entomology, Horticulture, Nematology, Plant Pathology, and Soil and Water Science.

The session will feature short talks from experienced Extension professionals and a hands-on logic model activity, highlighting how Extension programs move from ideas to implementation in practice. DPM student Tafsir Rashed and Director Dr. Amanda Hodges organized a symposium this week at the International Working Group on Ostrina and other Maize Pests in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The symposium was entitled “Bridging Research and Practice: IPM for Piercing-Sucking Insects in Maize Systems”. Thank you to our speakers for a successful event!
