Alpha Tau Omega at the University of Florida The Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Tau Omega was founded at the University of Florida in February of 1884. O’Connell.

It was the first fraternity on campus and prides itself on the impact it has had since its beginning. As the foundation of the Boys from Old Florida, the chapter excels in the four pillars of the UF Greek community: Academics, Scholarship, Service, and Community. The Alpha Omega Chapter has yielded some great men such as Lawton Chiles, Steve Spurrier, Bill McBride, and Steven C. It currently has 1

77 active members and is the second largest ATO chapter in the nation. Its chapter house was built in 1941 and recently underwent a 5.79 million dollar renovation that was finished in the fall of 2015.
