GISD families:
We are actively monitoring the winter weather advisories for our area and are in contact with county emergency management officials. Our number one priority is to keep our students and staff safe as they travel by car or bus to and from school.

Our current plan is to make a decision by this evening regarding school on Thursday, January 9. We want to ensure families and staff have ample time to plan accordingly. Please know that as soon as a decision is made concerning any changes to our normal school day (late start, early dismissal, cancellation) all of our parents and staff will be immediately notified.

Notification will be sent to all GISD parents and faculty through our mass communication system. Parents will be sent a text, phone call, and an email to the contact information provided in Ascender Parent Portal during registration.

In addition to direct messaging, notification for school weather-related changes will be posted to our GISD facebook and Instagram pages. Notices will also be sent to the following radio and TV stations: KGAF 92.3 FM, KGAF 1580 AM, KXII 12 News, KTEN, WFAA 8, FOX 4, NBC 5.
