AthenaEd is proud to present STEM Sims, authentic simulations of STEM laboratory experiments that draw students into virtual 3D worlds and promote inquiry. STEM Sims are a comprehensive suite of over 100 interactive, contextual STEM simulations and lesson materials for grades 4-12 students and teachers. STEM Sims are research-based and classroom-tested
tools for students to interactively experience leading-edge, next-generation STEM topics in the context of real-world applications. STEM Sims give students the opportunity to study meaningful STEM topics in a way that goes far beyond traditional laboratory experiences or the typical simulation formats. Unlike other simulations that only allow students to manipulate variables in a contrived, isolated context, STEM Sims place students in scenario-based learning environments where they use virtual tools to deeply explore STEM topics that matter. The increased emphasis on engineering principles proposed in the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), as well as in many state science standards, is a natural fit with STEM Sims. STEM Sims offer over 40 simulations that focus on designing, testing, and modifying structures, devices, and systems. STEM Sims give students a way to experience engineering first hand, in a safe, virtual environment.
