This resolution would leave millions of Americans facing doubled insurance premiums next year and millions without coverage altogether. The Democrats who held the line did what every elected leader should: defend their values and the people they represent.

At 36 days, the Trump administration has beaten its own record for the longest government shut down in United States history. While Speaker Mike Johnson and other Republicans in Congress have focused on how they can deflect blame onto Democrats, this failure of leadership is affecting the real lives of tens of millions of Americans. Families who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) wake up each day anxious about where money for their next meal will come from. More than a million federal employees and contractors are trying to navigating the abrupt drop off of their primary source of income, uncertain of when or if it will return.

Americans deserve better, the clock is ticking ⏰

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's... a blue wave! Democrats saw electoral victories across the country on November 4th, from New York City's mayoral race to the governor's races in Virginia and New Jersey. Here in Gainesville, voters turned out in record numbers to keep control of our public utilities local. The American people have spoken, and the message is clear: it's time for a change.

Food isn't a negotiation tactic. It's a basic need. And this week, it took two court orders to remind the Trump administration of that.

With his most recent directive to the Florida Board of Governors, Ron DeSantis has made yet another attack on diverse voices in education. As UF students, we are told no matter where you come from or where you go after your time here, you are always part of Gator Nation. Now, more than ever, we want to recognize the invaluable contributions of our international Gators and call upon UF to honor its own mission of representing a β€œdiverse community dedicated to excellence in education and research and shaping a better future for Florida, the nation, and the world.”
