I’m so excited to share that Elizabeth Patton, LMHC is joining CogniSense Occupational Therapy!

Elizabeth brings over 25 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families across school, clinical, and community settings here in North Central Florida. Her work is deeply rooted in trauma-informed care, crisis support, parent education, and collaborative problem-solving—values that align beautifully with how we already serve families.

What I love most about Elizabeth’s approach is her belief that kids do best when the adults around them work together. She has spent her career partnering with educators, therapists, physicians, and caregivers to help families build resilience and practical skills for everyday life.

Elizabeth will be offering counseling services for children and families, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with existing providers and supports. CogniSense remains committed to working with our amazing community of mental health professionals so families receive the right care at the right time.

We are honored to welcome Elizabeth and excited to grow our ability to support families in a thoughtful, integrated way. Elizabeth will be seeing clients in the afternoon, evenings, and weekends to fill a much-needed gap in our community. Please reach out to welcome her or ask any questions.

Slowly crawling the aisles while sipping my fav. Working on some systematic desensitization today. Can you guess what color food we’re targeting? 😂

So excited to be diving into this course by Kelly Mahler. I’ve had so many young adults and teens who had never heard of autistic burnout before. As we talked about it more they began to feel so validated in their own experiences. I’m excited to learn additional ways to support people who are struggling no one gets to tell you what you should feel!

We are excited to share some important news with you! My practice has a new name!

As part of my ongoing commitment to serving you with excellence and clarity, Milk and Honey Occupational Therapy (DBA Arin the OT) has officially changed its name to CogniSense Occupational Therapy.

When I first opened as Milk and Honey, my focus was primarily on feeding services. However, as our practice has grown to add more clinicians, so has the mission. We now proudly serve the neurodiverse community across a wide range of functional needs and throughout the lifespan — supporting sensory processing, emotional regulation, executive functioning, daily living skills, and more.

The name CogniSense reflects this broader focus: making sense of how we think, feel, and interact with the world.

Please rest assured that although our name has changed, our values, dedication, and commitment to individualized, compassionate care remain exactly the same. You will continue to work with the same providers you know and trust.

If you have any questions about this change, we are happy to talk with you. Our phone number and email address remain the same.

Thank you for being a valued part of our community. We are honored to continue growing and working alongside you under our new name, CogniSense Occupational Therapy.

Philly bound for AOTA Inspire 2025. I’ve been an OT for 18 years and never had the privilege to go to national conference. I’m going to soak it all in!

So much appreciation to Kelly Mahler for her creation of the Interoception Awareness Curriculum. I use it daily with my clients and it is literally a game-changer!!
