Chomp the Block at Celebration Pointe ๐ŸŠ

We're excited to be a sponsor and participant in Chomp the Block, happening at home Gator football games at Celebration Pointe this season! Organized by Fun4 Gator Kids, this family-friendly gameday event is full of fun for little ones and a great way to connect with the Twinkle Toes team in person.

If you're heading to a home game this fall, be sure to stop by and say hello. We would love to see you there!

This month, we're celebrating change, gratitude, and the beauty of new seasons with...

๐Ÿ‚ "Leaf Man" by Lois Ehlert

Join Leaf Man as the wind carries him on a colorful journey over fields, farms, and rivers, drifting wherever the breeze decides to take him. Made entirely of vibrant fall leaf collages, this beautifully illustrated story captures the spirit of the season while sparking imagination about where the wind might lead.

Perfect for toddlers settling into fall routines, this gentle, wordless-in-spirit story pairs beautifully with a nature walk to collect real leaves or a simple leaf art project at home.

It also pairs wonderfully with a fall scavenger hunt, a discussion about the changing seasons, or a cozy afternoon making your own leaf collage together.

โœจ A whimsical, seasonal read that celebrates change, imagination, and the simple magic of falling leaves.

In August, we hosted a hands-on Car Seat Safety Training for our nanny team, led by guest expert Jordyn Zyngier, BS, EMT-B, CPST-I, Pediatric Trauma Injury Prevention & Outreach Coordinator and Safe Kids North Central Florida Coordinator with UF Health Shands Children's Hospital Trauma Services. ๐Ÿš—

The training covered proper car seat installation, common safety mistakes and how to avoid them, age appropriate car seat guidelines, and child passenger safety best practices. Our nannies left with practical, real world knowledge they can confidently apply on the job, and this credential is now proudly reflected on their nanny profiles and bios.

Transportation safety is such an important part of caring for children, and we are so grateful to Jordyn for sharing her expertise with our team. Investing in ongoing education like this is one of the many ways we ensure Twinkle Toes families are cared for by nannies who are knowledgeable, prepared, and truly committed to child safety.

August brings shifting mealtimes, earlier mornings, and new routines as school approaches, making it the perfect month to focus on nutrition that keeps little ones energized and ready to learn. Building strong habits now sets the stage for a smoother, more balanced school year ahead.

Here are a few nanny-approved nutrition habits we focus on this month:

๐Ÿฅฃ Start the Day with Protein
A breakfast with protein, like eggs, yogurt, or nut butter, helps stabilize energy and focus far better than sugary cereals or pastries. Pair it with fruit for a naturally sweet, balanced start.

๐ŸŽ Pack Smart, Simple Snacks
Pre-portioned snacks like apple slices, cheese cubes, or trail mix make it easy to keep energy steady between meals, especially once school schedules pick back up.

๐Ÿฅช Get Ahead with Meal Prep
Prepping lunches, cutting produce, or portioning snacks a day or two in advance takes the pressure off busy mornings and helps ensure kids are actually eating what is packed.

๐Ÿง  Focus on Brain-Boosting Foods
Foods like eggs, berries, leafy greens, and whole grains support focus and memory, both of which matter as children shift back into learning mode.

๐Ÿ’ง Don't Forget Hydration
As outdoor play continues alongside new routines, water is still key. Keep it easy to access so hydration stays part of the daily rhythm even as schedules change.

August is all about building steady, sustainable habits, creating a foundation of good nutrition that supports energy, focus, and mood as families move from summer freedom into the structure of a new school year ๐Ÿ’›

Back-to-school season sneaks up fast.

One week you're at the pool, the next you're scrambling to figure out who's getting the kids to school on time and who's picking them up.

Here are 5 signs it might be time to bring in backup care before the chaos starts:

๐ŸŽ’ You have no plan for teacher workdays or half days
๐Ÿ• Morning drop-off and your work schedule keep colliding
๐Ÿค’ One sick day throws your entire week off track
๐Ÿ“ž You're relying on favors from friends or family more than you'd like
๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ You feel like you're always one curveball away from a scramble

If any of these sound familiar, send us a message. We'll help you build a plan before the first bell rings ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸšŒ August Craft Idea: Popsicle Stick School Bus

A fun, hands-on way to get little ones excited for the school year. Using yellow and black cardstock, popsicle sticks, buttons, and googly eyes, kids can build their very own school bus while practicing cutting, gluing, and fine motor skills.

It's simple enough for preschool and kindergarten ages, and a sweet keepsake to display before the first day.
