The Nature School of North Texas The Nature School is a Charlotte Mason-based Homeschool Co-op in Gainesville, Tx.

Emily Riffe and her family moved out to 18 acres in Gainesville after living in the Frisco/Prosper area. She and her dear friend Deven led a Charlotte Mason Nature Study Co-op for 7 years in that area. Fall 2022 she opened up to a couple of families a Nature Co-op at their land in Gainesville. Her goal is to continue to share the Charlotte Mason philosophy of a beautiful education for all children.

We are now open for enrollment for Fall 2023!

Our nature topics for next Fall/Spring will include: Rivers/Lakes, White-Tailed Deer, Edible Plants, Raptors/Hawks, and Buffalo. Science for older kids will be Ecology.

Welcome to the Nature School in Gainesville Texas!

We are a Charlotte Mason based homeschool group for families with kids of all ages. Each Friday we spend the day outdoors on our land exploring nature, nature journaling, and covering other subjects including poetry, composers, artists, and hymns.

We are Charlotte Mason based in that we read living books, and focus on student narrations. We believe that education is an atmosphere, a discipline, and a life. And that education is the science of relations.

We hold to a Christian Worldview in our teachings, and use curriculum from Simply Charlotte Mason as well as Sabbath Mood Living Science.

Every six weeks we study a new topic in nature using living books and observations. Once a month we visit a nearby Nature Preserve or State Park. Our focus in Nature is specifically understanding the ecology and habitat where we live: The Blackland Prairie/Crosstimbers Regions of North Texas.

We offer Advanced Nature Study and Science for older aged kids.

We look forward to enjoying community with you!
