Guest Speaker - Eliza Snyder ⚡️
We are so excited for our girls to hear from Eliza! 🤍
“Hey, everyone! My name is Eliza Snyder, and I graduated high school here in Georgia from Lakeview Academy, where we won a region championship and went to the elite 8. While in high school, I won Region Player of the Year, was on the All-State team multiple years in a row, scored over 1,000 points, and achieved my goal of signing to play Division 1 college basketball at Mercer University.
During my time at Mercer, we won two SoCon championships and went to the NCAA tournament twice, where we played South Carolina and UConn. I was extremely fortunate to have ended up at a program that was full of incredible human beings and players. Ultimately, my college career didn’t go or end the way I had planned. I suffered a broken hand, as well as two torn labrums in my hip that both required surgery and eventually led to my medical retirement. But I wouldn’t change my story.
Basketball was who I was for a very long time, and my whole world revolved around it. I spent countless hours training, at practice, lifting weights, and playing games. I was able to meet some of my best friends, win championships, build lasting connections with my coaches, and get a free college education. Without basketball, I wouldn’t have half of the experiences I have today, and I wouldn’t have learned the strength that I possess from both the wins and losses. Basketball taught me that I am strong, hard working, passionate, and most importantly, more than just a basketball player.”
