Armed Women of America - Gainesville, GA Chapter

Due to low attendance at our monthly meetings, we are merging this Gainesville AWA Chapter with the NE ATL AWA Chapter (Buford). This means we will no longer have monthly meetings at Cherokee Gun Club (CGC)on the 3rd Wednesday evening.

We will, however, keep CGC as an alternate host range for other local AWA Chapters for special events.

The NE ATL AWA Chapter will continue to hold their meetings on the 2nd Sunday of the month starting at 3:30pm at Deadcenter Indoor Gun Range.

I will be transferring to NE ATL AWA as a Chapter Leader … and will continue running classes and lessons through my business (Shannon’s Garden & Gun Gallery) if you’d like to reach out to me. Stacy Dawson will continue as a Chapter Leader at NE ATL AWA Chapter.

I’m so very proud of my client, Dawn! I recently met her at a presentation (basic introduction to fi****ms) I gave for a local women’s group. She immediately signed up for a private lesson… prefacing it with, “I’m an awful shooter… my rounds go all over the place!”. I told her, “don’t worry, I’m sure we can fix this”. She then proceeded to tell me her story.

About 6 years ago, Dawn’s husband had a tragic accident leaving her as his caregiver. She quickly realized she would be responsible for her family’s safety and security as well. Her husband was former military and owned several fi****ms so Dawn decided it was time to learn how to use them for home defense. She was afraid of guns but still convinced herself to signup for a few classes at a local range. She completed the classes but was very discouraged with her shooting … her rounds weren’t hitting the target. Out of frustration, she stopped going.

Last year, after her home was broken into, she decided it was time to get back to the range. Still very discouraged… she even asked the range about signing up for more lessons and they seemed disinterested in assisting her.

After our 2 hour private lesson, covering the basic skills, Dawn was hitting the target with no problem! She was ecstatic 🤩! I’m really looking forward to more lessons with Dawn… she was a joy to teach! And thank you Dawn for trusting me to with your training! 🎯

Ladies Defensive Pistol:
We had a good turnout last night. We combined our Armed Women of America - Gainesville, GA Chapter meeting with our Johns Creek Lady Shooters group last night. We had several stages, shooting around cover, included no shoots, one handed shooting, a Mozambique drill, some fabulous drop down target (Steve Havey’s aparati), and more. Always a good time with lots of learning and fellowship! Thank you ladies for trusting us with your training! ❤️🎯
