Yesterday, we had the joy of welcoming our Boulware grandparents to campus for a special Grandparents Day lunch!

We were thrilled to welcome 86 grandparents to our cafeteria!

We truly enjoyed spending time with these very special people and getting to know the grandparents who mean so much to our students. Thank you for sharing them with us!

On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, we pause to remember and reflect.

We honor the lives lost and remember the incredible bravery and sacrifice of the first responders, service members, and countless individuals who gave their lives while helping others.

May we never forget their courage, their sacrifice, and the lasting impact of that day.

Manatee Mail has returned to Boulware!

Help us stock the Manatee Mail Post Office! 📨💌

Manatee Mail is a school-based program that Mrs. Abbitt started last school year, where students learn about the postal system by writing, sorting, and delivering mail within the school. It is designed to improve writing and communication skills and foster a sense of community. Our 2nd grade classes will have the opportunity to run this exciting enterprise and take on roles of mail carriers, postmaster, clerks, and sorters. Students apply and interview for jobs.

Mail is dropped off in the front office and sorted and delivered every Tuesday. Every classroom and office has its own address, and students and teachers can send cards and letters to one another. Parents can join in too by dropping off notes for students or teachers in the front office mailbox!

So far this year in just two weeks, 225 pieces of Manatee Mail were delivered!
Last school year Boulware Manatees sent and delivered 2,980 pieces of mail!

Each month, teachers choose students who have demonstrated our featured character trait through their actions, choices, and interactions at school to receive the Manatee of the Month award.
This month, we are celebrating our students who have demonstrated Responsibility, one of our 4 Rs!

Congrats to Chrissandra, Laila, Melina, Amelia, Hazel, Aryanna, Ja'Mya, and Ah'Mi! We are so proud of you and the positive example you set for others!

Next month, our character trait will be Respect. We can’t wait to see our Manatees putting this important 4 R into action!

We had the best time welcoming Nox, the therapy dog, to Boulware!

A huge thank you to Dr. Kristen Iannuzzi, Alachua County Public Schools Safety and Security team, and of course, Nox for spending time with us!

Nox is definitely a celebrity at Boulware, and our students were absolutely thrilled to see him! He showed off some of his amazing tricks, including playing the piano, turning off the lights, pushing a stroller, and so much more!

Our students also had the opportunity to give Nox some well-deserved pets and went home with an awesome Nox bookmark!

Thank you for bringing so much excitement and joy to Boulware, Nox! We can't wait to see you again! 🐾

It’s been a wonderful start to the new school year! Our new students have been welcomed into their Houses, we’ve been learning school procedures and routines, and we’ve had lots of opportunities to get to know both our new and returning students even better.

We’re so excited for the year ahead and look forward to a fun-filled year of learning, growing, making memories, and reaching for the stars together!
