Join us tomorrow evening for the LETR Alachua County, Florida!

Tomorrow evening, Gainesville will shine a little brighter as we carry the Flame of Hope.

Join Gainesville first responders, Special Olympics Florida athletes, and community supporters for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run — a proud tradition benefiting athletes across our state.

Lace up your shoes and be part of an inspiring one-mile run as we es**rt the Flame of Hope through our city in support of determination, inclusion, and opportunity.

📍 The run begins at Shop at Butler Publix at 6:00 p.m.
📍 The route ends in Celebration Pointe

We invite everyone to come out, run, cheer, and support these incredible athletes.

Please note: motorists should expect temporary traffic delays in the area as portions of the route will be closed to ensure the safety of all participants.

We know this time of year can be stressful, but taking care of your mind and body is just as important as studying.

Here are a few healthy ways to manage stress this week:
✔️ Spend time with friends and classmates
✔️ Get moving at the gym or enjoy Student Life recreation activities
✔️ Refuel—don’t skip meals while you’re studying
✔️ Take your studying outside and enjoy one of our beautiful campus spots

💬 And remember—use your resources:
• If you need extra academic support, the Learning Commons is there for you
• If you need someone to talk to, the Counseling Center is open and available to help

This week, we visited the Combined Communications Center with a small token of appreciation (🍩’s) to thank the dispatchers who support Alachua County every day.

We’re grateful for a strong working relationship with the CCC team!

When we need additional support they are always just a call away and we can’t say enough about the incredible work they do!

Yesterday, SFPD participated in the Tip-A-Cop at Texas Roadhouse event to help raise money for Special Olympics Florida. It was a great event, with collaboration from University of Florida Public Safety Alachua County Sheriff Gainesville Police Department and Alachua Police Department!
