š This is exactly what I look for before a student starts Algebra:
Algebra is often the point where math starts to feel either really manageableāor really frustrating for students.
If your student is heading into Algebra soon (or even if youāre unsure), the biggest indicators I look for are:
⨠Confidence with multi-step problems
⨠Comfort working with variables
⨠A solid foundation in fractions and basic operations
If those areas feel shaky, Algebra can quickly become overwhelming.
Thatās exactly why I created my Intro to Algebra Summer Intensive (June 8-July 2)āto give students a strong foundation before they step into Algebra.
In this small-group, 4-week program, we focus on:
⨠Strengthening core skills
⨠Building problem-solving confidence
⨠Making sure students actually understand the āwhyā behind what theyāre doing
The goal isnāt just to āpreviewā Algebraāitās to help students walk in feeling prepared and capable.
I keep the group very small so each student gets the attention they need.
Iām also a Step Up for Students direct-pay provider and work with scholarship families across Florida.
If youāre not sure whether your student is ready, feel free to message meāIām always happy to talk it through!

A quick heads up for parents of rising Algebra students š
One of the biggest reasons students struggle in Algebra isnāt the new contentāitās gaps in earlier skills.
Things like:
⢠Comfort with fractions
⢠Understanding negative numbers
⢠Seeing patterns in numbers
When those arenāt solid, Algebra can feel overwhelming fast.
Thatās exactly why I created my summer intensiveāto strengthen those foundations so students can walk into Algebra feeling confident instead of confused.
