Is scalloping a part of your plans this summer? Keep an eye out for Florida Sea Grant agents stationed at boat ramps in Taylor and Hernando counties throughout the 2023 scalloping season. They'll be distributing easy-to-use "scallop sorters" which help prevent the harvesting of smaller scallops (less than 2 inches) that have not yet had a chance to reproduce. Although there is no regulation on minimum size limit, allowing younger or smaller scallops to spawn helps replenish the local scallop population and ensure future scalloping seasons!
