Gordon S. Wood (1933-2026) was one of the most influential historians of the American founding and a scholar whose work shaped generations of students, teachers, and historians.
Many members of the Hamilton community had the privilege of knowing and working alongside Professor Wood and benefited from his intellectual generosity, wisdom, and commitment to historical inquiry.
