Graduation Day Information
Student Information for Ceremony
Graduates must be in line at the loading dock of EagleBank Arena, no later than 12:45 pm. Students who are late will not be able to participate in the ceremony.
All students are required to wear their red cap, gown, and stole ordered through Jostens.
Cap Decoration: Caps may be decorated but the decorations must be two-dimensional and have no reference to anything that could be considered offensive or derogatory. Cap Decorations will be approved at the graduation practices. If you have questions, please see an administrator on duty during lunch.
Student Dress: Students should wear dress clothes (dresses, skirts, dress slacks, dress shirts). Dress shoes should also be worn. Keep in mind that you will be walking up a ramp and down a set of stairs when choosing your shoes.
Please do not bring purses or bags, as they are not allowed by EagleBank Arena, or anything "extra" as you will not be able to carry them across the stage with you and we will not have staff on hand to collect and keep the items during the ceremony. Balloons, face cutouts, noisemakers, etc. are not allowed.
Family Information for Ceremony
Tickets are NOT required for the ceremony and there is no guest limit. Arena staff will be able to assist with any handicapped parking or seating needs.
Parents will be able to enter EagleBank Arena at 1 pm
EagleBank staff will assist with entry and staff will be around the arena passing out programs. For any assistance with handicapped seating, the arena staff will be on hand to assist.
EagleBank Arena currently uses CEIA OPENGATE Magnetometers to screen upon entry. There is also a clear bag policy in place for all patrons, bags should not exceed 12”x12”x 6”. If a guest requires a bag for parental or medical needs, the bag will be searched at entry and tagged. Balloons, face cutouts, noisemakers, etc. are not allowed. Please refer to Eaglebank Arena policies page for more information.

The graduation ceremony will have closed captioning available on the screens.

Language Interpretation Services through KUDO:
PWCS is offering interpretation services during the graduation ceremonies Spanish, Arabic, Urdu, Dari/Farsi, Nepali, Turkish, and Korean.

Congratulations to our Summer Residential Governor's School Attendees!

We are proud to announce this year’s Summer Residential Governor’s School attendees to various programs throughout the state of Virginia. Students will spend 3 weeks this summer immersed in areas of interest with other Virginia students and supported by college professors. This program is highly selective and available to 10th and 11th graders each year.

Gainesville Students Head to Governor’s School at Innovation Park 2026-27

Congratulations to our student participating in the years-long Governor’s School at Innovation Park program beginning fall 2026. Students will enter a specific course of study beginning next year and continue through 2027, earning both high school and college credits through George Mason University. We wish them the best of luck in this challenging and rewarding program!

Device Collection Details (Seniors)

Seniors will return their iPads for collection on Friday, May 15, during advisory.
Seniors will sign the pink form that was used in advisory at the start of the year to confirm return of their device and charger.
If a device or charger is not returned on Friday, it will become a senior obligation (with one exception below) to be met prior to graduation practice on May 26.
If a senior needs their iPad for AP testing on May 15, they can return their iPad to their Advisory teacher before May 20th.
Device Collection Details (Underclassmen)

Underclassmen devices will be collected during advisory periods on June 4 and June 8.
Students will sign the pink form that was used in advisory at the start of the year to confirm return of their device and charger.
Students who don't return a device or charger on June 4 should be sent a School Status reminder, asking them to return both items on June 8. Students who do not return a charger or device will be charged for their loss (charger - $25, iPad - $668).
