All GHS families are welcome to our Back to School webinar on 8/8 at 6:30 p.m. Topics such as what to expect the first day, parking, drop off/pick up, supplies, schedules, student activities will be covered. For more information including a link to register, please visit the GHS Back to School webpage. There is also a survey for families to submit topics of interest.


To help our families plan for the start of the school year, we've created a Back to School page on the GHS website. This includes information about New Student Orientation, a Back to School webinar, and Back to School night. Check this page often for the most up to date information!


Save the date! Gainesville High School’s New Student Orientation is Thursday, August 18 from 8 am until 12 pm.

This is for all NEW students to Gainesville High School for the 2022-2023 school year.

Lunch and express bus transportation will be provided.

More information will be coming soon through email and the GHS website.

The Gainesville High School counseling team is proud to present the Class of 2023 Summer Newsletter. This newsletter is a wealth of information to help rising 12th graders prepare for life after high school.

Great news - we have 25 extra yearbooks to sell they will go on sale today at 12:00 noon and are available on a first come first served basis. The cost is still $85 and purchases can be made at After you receive your receipt yearbooks can be picked up by students from Mr. Nemerow at school through Thursday. Starting Friday, yearbooks will be available for pickup in the main office.

We are pleased to announce the publication of our first Literary Arts Magazine - Vision & Voices. Check it out for free at Join us as we celebrate the published Cardinal writers and artists. A publication party is being held in the Extended Learning Space after the Radiance Awards tonight. Printed hard copies will be available for purchase at $10 each.

Yearbooks have arrived and will be distributed to students during lunches on Wednesday, June 8. If students need to make other arrangements to pick up their yearbook, they should contact Mr. Nemerow ([email protected]). If anyone would still like to purchase a yearbook there are some left for sale, but act quickly before they sell out.


Yearbooks are still for sale through the end of this week. They are $85 and can be purchased at!


After about an hour without power, we are excited to say it has been restored!


If you’re interested in playing field hockey, please join us (players + parents) at our pre-season team meeting at Gainesville High School. Meet the coaches, mingle with future teammates, and learn everything you need to know heading into tryouts!

Parents and guardians can check their student's course requests for the 2022-2023 school year in Parent and Student VUE. Once logged in to your account, select Course Requests. Course request changes can be made until 5/27/22 via the Course Request Change Form. This link and more information can be found on the GHS Academic Advising page:

Come out to Gainesville High School's first annual Multicultural Night this Friday, March 11th! Doors open at 6pm and it is free admission for all! Everyone can come to enjoy food from around the world, learn about different cultures, participate in fun activities, and see student performances. Congratulations to our very own Aristocratic Avocado, Team 13150A, who won the Create Award at the Vex State Championship this past weekend! This award is presented to a team whose robot design incorporates a creative engineering solution to the design challenges.


Congratulations to Christian Carrol '24 for qualifying for the state final in the 100M backstroke! Christian placed 14th in the state preliminary races!

FCCLA will be meeting Tuesday 2/15 from 2:15 - 3:45 and Thursday 2/17 from 2:15 - 4pm in 1205.


Interested in trying out for GHS Tennis? Come touch base with the coaches on Wednesday, February 9th from 2:20-2:50 pm in Room 2021 to learn more about out of season practices and tryouts. Tryouts will start on February 21st and you must have all necessary items completed to try out (can be found on Gainesville Athletics website).


Anyone interested in playing baseball this spring, there will be an interest meeting on Wednesday, February 9 directly after school in room 1209. We will go over eligibility requirements, tryout dates, and expectations. See Coach Miller in 1209 if you have any questions or can't make the meeting.
