Dr. Larisa Olesova, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Educational Technology Program, was awarded the Center for Teaching Excellence’s Rising Star Award. To earn this award, Dr. Olesova participated in professional development programs focused on best practices and innovations in teaching, including the Office of Global Learning’s Virtual Exchange (VE) Training and the Global Learning Institute. She has since incorporated global learning activities into the Educational Technology Program, beginning with its orientation.

The Career Influencer Awards are offered by the Career Connections Center, and this award recognizes a faculty member who has championed the career development of students at the University through collaboration or mentorship. As a past participant in OGL’s Virtual Exchange (VE) Training and having earned the Global Teaching & Learning Certificate, Dr. Matthew Traum has been highly active in developing and implementing impactful VE projects for UF undergraduates and incoming transfer students. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition, Dr. Traum!

We’re proud to celebrate Dr. Feihong Wang as a recipient of the Exemplary Online Teaching Award for Instructional Innovation from the Center for Teaching Excellence! As a Global Learning Institute (GLI) and Virtual Exchange (VE) participant, Dr. Wang designs thoughtful, research-informed learning experiences that actively engage students, including a VE project with partners in Lebanon. This well-deserved recognition highlights the impact of global engagement in advancing innovative and effective online education. Congratulations, Dr. Wang!

Dr. Oliver Grundmann, Assistant Dean for Lifelong Learning, Clinical Professor, and Director in the College of Pharmacy, was awarded the Center for Teaching Excellence’s Rising Star Award. To earn this award, Dr. Grundmann participated in professional development programs focused on best practices and innovations in teaching, including the Office of Global Learning’s Virtual Exchange (VE) Training.

We’re proud to celebrate Dr. Marina A. Klimenko as a recipient of the Exemplary Online Teaching Award for Large Enrollment courses from the Center for Teaching Excellence!

Dr. Klimenko completed the Virtual Exchange (VE) Training and has since implemented VE four times in online courses with over 300 students.

This well-deserved recognition highlights the impact of her thoughtful course design, innovative global learning projects, and student-centered teaching.

Applications for the Virtual Exchange Training have been extended, apply by May 15.

This 5-week online program supports UF faculty in designing and implementing virtual exchange experiences, integrating global perspectives and collaboration into their courses.

Participants receive:
• $500 in professional development funds
• 500 miles toward the Global Teaching & Learning Certificate
