Late post but definitely big news!
Congratulations Tobin!

In the last competitive outing of the season, the Jackson County Band brought home a second place finish in their class at Bandapalooza in Portland, TN. The band won the "Spirit Award" for the second year in a row. This event finished with a "Fastest Drummer Contest". Out of the 16 bands competing today, our 8th grader - Tobin Clever - took the prize! Here he is receiving the championship belt from the previous two-time champion who is now a college freshman.

GO BAND!

🎉 The Birthdate Challenge: Making a Difference at JCMS! 🎂

The Birthdate Challenge has truly made a positive impact at Jackson County Middle School, bringing more excitement, kindness, and school spirit into our hallways!

Through this fun initiative, students are encouraged to make their birthdays about more than just celebrating themselves. Students submit their names and birthdays into our Birthdate Challenge box, making a commitment to give a little extra on their special day by spreading kindness, showing appreciation, and making a positive difference for others.

Each week, students have the opportunity to be selected from the birthday entries. Those selected receive a special bag of goodies and recognition for participating in the challenge!

What started as a simple idea has grown into something meaningful for our school. The Birthdate Challenge has created excitement among students, encouraged positive attitudes, and reminded everyone that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

At JCMS, we believe that building a positive school culture starts with our students, and the Birthdate Challenge is a wonderful example of how a little encouragement, recognition, and fun can make a lasting impact!

🎈 One birthday, one kind act, and one positive difference at a time!

🚌 Celebrating Our Amazing Bus Drivers! 🚌

Jackson County Middle School would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to our wonderful bus drivers for the dedication, patience, and care they show our students each and every day!

Our students worked together to make our bus drivers feel extra special! Students created and shared announcements to encourage our school to show appreciation, wrote heartfelt letters of gratitude, decorated treat bags, and personally delivered bags filled with goodies to our drivers.

This was a wonderful opportunity for our students to practice kindness, teamwork, and gratitude while recognizing the individuals who play such an important role in our school community.

To our bus drivers: Thank you for the early mornings, long afternoons, countless miles, and commitment to getting our students to and from school safely. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for everything you do!

❤️ From all of us at JCMS, thank you for going the extra mile for our students every single day! 🚌

The Sofia Goodman Group, a professional jazz ensemble based in Nashville, visited Jackson County on Thursday, October 8 to perform for band / art / theater students. Mr. Gotcher arranged for them to play some music from their new recordings and to answer questions about the life of a musician, the process of writing, and some of the ins and outs of performing. Some students even got the chance to perform with the group!

What a wonderful opportunity for our school community.
