We are excited to open our doors tomorrow with our gentle start opening!
Additional mats to make the workout floor bigger, 9’x9’ squares for each student, limited parent seating and lots and lots of cleaning/sanitizing products.

“Black Belts don’t make excuses, they find a way!”
With Black Belt Conference moving to an e-conference this year due to COVID-19, the McClellan family took their uniforms to Lake Erie and had a great time with the workouts via Zoom!
What a great start to E-Black Belt Conference 2020!! The school owners and instructors have done a fantastic job adapting to teaching online and TaeKwonDo America did an amazing job switching to an E-Conference!
It’s not the Black Belt Conference we had planned on, but we are still having great seminars via Zoom!
Congratulations to all of our GJPS students on their last day of school today! You were an example of dedication and perseverance while you finished out the school year virtually.

For those of you interested in holding boards for your child please take minute to watch this great video from Mr. Wilson.
This short video shows very basic board holding for children. Use caution when holding - grip boards tightly!
I think this is something that everyone needs to hear as we enter our seventh week of quarantine. It is ok to feel overwhelmed. It is ok to feel frustrated. It is ok to become easily annoyed with those you live with. It is ok to be completely exhausted. It is ok to cry. It is ok to laugh. It is ok to be quiet. We are going through a time that none of us have ever experienced! We are history in the making.
I encourage you to take a minute and put yourself in your child’s shoes. Imagine sitting in front of a computer for 3+ hours a day having “school” where they never got to give their teacher a goodbye hug or high five their friends saying see you next year. They have none of the manipulatives or hands-on classroom materials they are used to. They want to go outside and play with their friends and are having a difficult time fully understanding why they can’t and why they need to wear a mask everywhere.
Children take in so much information by watching and listening. They see that you are stressed, frustrated, overwhelmed, worried, and so much more. Sure, our stresses are about different things but we are all experiencing them none the less. As adults, we know how to express these feelings and often have another adult we can confide in. Your children don’t. They aren’t quite sure how to express the overwhelmed sensation they are feeling or the fear of the unknown. They don’t have that escape to school, soccer, dance, or taekwondo where they can let off their steam with their peers or have that one on one social interaction. The next time they put up a battle to do another activity online in front of a device, tell them it’s OK and come back to it later. Let them run around, or color, or lay on the couch for awhile, or ride their bike. They are learning how to cope with our current situation, just like you!
Yes, it is ok to have all the feelings in the world right now but please remember that your child is experiencing those same feelings. Remember, it is perfectly OK to feel all of these and so much more but remember that we are all in this together. If you think you’re the only one who is feeling overwhelmed, stressed, frustrated, anxious, etc, you’re not! Let those feelings and emotions come in....but don’t let them consume your day. Stay healthy and stay positive.
#ThrowbackThursday Let's see some of your favorite throwback pictures from your taekwondo journey!
Here is Miss McClellan on the night she got her Yellow Belt (the swollen eye was due to a bee sting she got right before the awards ceremony).

A family who quarantines together works together.
Teaching online classes from home, having 7 hour testing days, a drive thru awards ceremony and social hour lunches with students would not be possible with Mr. and Mrs. McClellan!
They have been a huge help and even ran lunch bunch with the teens today without Miss M. Thanks Mr. & Mrs. M!
Whine & Wine “Meeting” with the MTA parents tonight was a success!! Thanks for logging on and hanging out with us tonight. #mtafamily #onebigfamily #lotsoflaughter #lovehangingoutwiththem

Join Perdue's Sunbury Taekwondo zoom class tonight at 7:00pm with special guest instructor 4th Degree Black Belt Mr. Sean Malone!
Miss McClellan and Mr. Malone have known each other since they were little kids and have grown up together at taekwondo taking classes with each other and hanging out in the lobby while their parents all took class. Special note that Mr. Malone is also the person who designed the MTA logo!
We are excited to join in with Perdue’s Sunbury Taekwondo and Mr. Malone tonight at 7:00pm on zoom!
One of the best parts of virtual testing is that the whole family can test together at the same time regardless of age, rank, or program they are enrolled in! What makes it even better is when they all pass testing and can’t help but give each other a hug. Parents and children, siblings, little ninjas, black belts...we’ve had them all. In a situation we thought we would never encounter when we opened the school three years ago (online testing), our students and families are making the best of it! #mtafamily #familieswhokicktogethersticktogether #virtualtesting #covıd19quarantine #familylove #supporteachother
The best part of virtual testing is definitely seeing how nervous the students are when they first logon to zoom and their reaction when we tell them they just passed testing #mtafamily #excitement #findjoyinthelittlethings #makesmesmile
Day 1 = Complete!!
50 testers in 7 hours ranging in ages from 3-50 with everyone cheering each other on! Excited for day two tomorrow!
Excited for Virtual Testing Day 1!
We’re excited to kick off our first day of virtual belt testing this morning!!
Remember to wear your full white uniform and check your email for the zoom link.
Can you guess how many of these Little Ninjas are current students in our traditional kids program? Bonus points if you know the highest rank that one of these Ninjas currently is!
#FitnessFriday Miss McClellan went for a five mile walk past her old Elementary School this week. What are you doing to stay fit while you're staying at home?
