The 8th grade class graduated at Cyd Lash Academy this morning. Congratulations to our students, their families, and staff for this individual and shared accomplishment. Thank you, Principal Preble and Superintendent Donnan, for the kind and inspiring words during the ceremony.

Update on 4:44 p.m. CST from Dr. Donnan, SEDOL Superintendent:

The SEDOL Gages Lake campus (Laremont, Cyd Lash, Gages Lake School, and the SEDOL Administrative Building) is no longer on soft lockdown and it was determined there was no credible threat.

At this time, staff, students, and visitors may proceed in and out of the buildings. Dismissal of students has been started. SEDOL is continuing to work with the Lake County Sheriff.

We will keep you posted as we know more information.

Thank you for your cooperation throughout the afternoon. SEDOL staff have gone above and beyond to support students! Thank you everyone for making the best out of this situation.

Lake County Sheriff is currently on the scene of a bomb threat that was made to the SEDOL campus. The threat was directed toward a vehicle in the parking lot. Lake County deputies have been checking the area and based on their investigation thus far, it appears unsubstantiated. Lake County Sheriff has an explosive detection canine doing one final sweep to ensure all are safe before students are dismissed.
