Happy Friday, CCA! We’ve made it to the end of another great week of learning!

Today, we’re featuring Cherokee Charter Academy fifth grader Asher Clark and his mom, Lauren Clark. Asher enjoys growing as an artist, learning about history, playing sports, building friendships, and sharing his faith at school.
For Lauren, some of her favorite school memories happened beyond the classroom. Getting involved in extracurricular activities helped her make friends, discover her strengths, and learn to work with others.
“Those experiences showed me the value of teamwork, communication, and working together toward a common goal.”
Lauren earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of South Carolina. Today, she serves as Executive Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent of Academics for Cherokee County School District, where she coordinates professional learning and helps create meaningful experiences for educators.
Lauren believes attendance gives students the chance to learn, grow, and discover their interests. Her advice to students is simple: “Keep showing up, get involved, and trust that God will guide you as you discover your purpose.”
Every day at school is another opportunity to find a friend, develop a talent, or discover a new path. Keep showing up, Asher!
