Remembering Sweet Kyrie ❤️
Kyrie was a part of the Busy Town family for a short time before he and his mom moved away. Even though the time we had with him was brief, he left a sweet and lasting impression on those who had the privilege of knowing him.
The tragic news of the accident involving Kyrie and his mother has left us heartbroken and in shock. It is difficult to find the words to express the sadness we feel over the loss of such a precious little boy and his mother.
Please join us in remembering and honoring Kyrie’s sweet little life—a life that was taken far too soon. Please also remember his mother, Brooklyn, and keep their family, especially Kyrie’s siblings and loved ones, in your thoughts and prayers during this unimaginable time.
Our deepest and most heartfelt condolences go out to the entire Gilfillan family. May you find comfort in the love and memories that Kyrie leaves behind, and may God surround you with His peace and strength.

I share with you this:
September 3, 2026
Today, as I sat in the office, I looked up at a little piece of artwork hanging on the wall. A month ago, while cleaning out the cubbies and preparing Busy Town for Back to School, I had found it tucked away among the things left behind.
It was a little Christmas tree—colored and decorated by one of our children.
I had seen the artwork before, but today, something caught my attention that I hadn’t noticed then.
A name.
Kyrie Floyd.
The moment I saw his name, the tears filled my eyes, and my heart simply broke. I could hardly speak, I said, “Tina look, just look at the name that is on this.”
I stood there looking at that little Christmas tree, knowing that it had been created by Kyrie’s little hands. What had once been just a sweet piece of childhood artwork suddenly became something I knew I would treasure forever.
It made me think about how precious our children’s little creations truly are. We see them every day—pictures, handprints, scribbles, crafts—and sometimes we don’t realize that one day, those seemingly simple things may become some of our most treasured memories.
Today, this little Christmas tree feels like a gift.
A tiny piece of Kyrie that he left behind at Busy Town.
I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to know this sweet boy and that our Busy Town family was able to be a small part of his life. I am thankful for the memories, for the smiles, for the little moments, and now, for this precious reminder of him.
I never imagined that something created by a little boy we once cared for would one day bring tears to my eyes and remind me just how short and precious life truly is.
As I look at his little Christmas tree, I can’t help but think that perhaps it was meant to stay here.
A little reminder that Kyrie was here.
A little reminder that Kyrie was loved.
A little reminder that Kyrie will never be forgotten.
Sometimes God leaves us the smallest reminders when our hearts need them most. And today, that reminder was a little Christmas tree with Kyrie’s name on it.
Sweet Kyrie, you may have only been a part of our Busy Town family for a short time, but you left a place in our hearts that will remain forever.
Rest peacefully, sweet boy.
You were here.
You were loved.
You mattered.
And you will never be forgotten.
