At approximately 2:23 this afternoon, a report was made to a teacher regarding a rumor that a student may have intended to harm other students at school. The teacher immediately followed our safety procedures and notified administration.
The report was taken seriously and was thoroughly investigated by school administration in coordination with our School Resource Officer. After a full investigation, the claims were determined to be false, and no evidence of a credible or actual threat to our students or school was found.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff will always be our highest priority. We appreciate the student and staff member who brought the concern forward and followed the appropriate reporting procedures.
We are also extremely thankful for our School Resource Officer and for our strong partnership with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. Their continued support and commitment to the safety of our school community are greatly appreciated.
We encourage everyone to avoid spreading rumors and to report any safety concerns directly to a trusted staff member or school administrator so they can be properly addressed.
