We have a wonderful addition to our Outdoor Learning Space.
A huge thank you to Steve Fedewa and Bill Laforce for all their planning, engineering, and constructing our new “Kugelbahn”, meaning ball run in German.
We are beyond thrilled to have it at Johnson Pond Learning Center. Kugelbahns in Germany are popular along hiking trails in German speaking regions. In the United States there are only 2 outdoor Kugelbahns, one in New York and one in Washington. We feel very special to have our very own.
Thank you to Bethany Fedewa for all her input and personalizing the balls for the run.
Also, to Bryan Maione and Dirk Field for lending a hand on a Saturday morning.

Thank you again for adding some more fun and culture to our outdoor space.

It was scorching hot, but we had an awesome time at the Holly Springs Salamanders game last night. It was great to see many of our JPLC families enjoying the game along with us.

Today Johnson Pond Learning Center celebrated its 23rd anniversary. We commemorated this milestone with hot dogs and Pelicans Snoballs.
As I reflected on our remarkable journey, I couldn’t help but think of the countless children who have walked through our front doors over the past 23 years. The countless good mornings, giggles, hugs, tears, learning, and play that have taken place within our walls are a testament to our dedication to nurturing young minds.
I thought about the many employees who have been part of our family, and how many of our employees have been part of Johnson Pond for so many years, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
I remembered the couple employees we have lost to illnesses, and the fond memories of them that we carry with us.
I thought about Laurie, and how much she is missed, yet her memory continues to motivate us to strive for excellence and continue her legacy.
I hope Johnson Pond will continue to thrive for at least 23 more years, and we’ll have the privilege of watching the children of our former students walk through our doors.
We always say, once a part of our Johnson Pond family, always a part of our Johnson Pond Family.
